Sharon Sexton is an award-winning West End performer, Vocal Coach, and Vocal Rehabilitation Specialist with more than twenty years’ experience working with singers, actors, speakers, and performers of all ages and abilities.
Alongside an extensive international performing career, Sharon teaches privately online and from her home studio, and works with students and professionals throughout the UK and Europe through workshops, training programmes, and performing arts institutions.
She is a tutor with The Voice College and also runs her own private studio & pop up clinics in London.
Her coaching work spans vocal technique, performance training, audition preparation, vocal health, and rehabilitation support, with clients ranging from complete beginners to established professional performers working across theatre, television, live music, and public speaking.
As a vocal rehabilitation specialist, Sharon frequently works with injured singers, collaborating with laryngologists and voice specialists in the UK. She is passionate about helping performers develop healthy, sustainable vocal technique and a deeper understanding of how their instrument works.
She is currently continuing her specialist training as a Vocal Habilitation Professional with Vocal Health Education.
Sharon has taught internationally for a wide range of respected performing arts organisations and training institutions, including The Institute of Contemporary Theatre (Manchester), Stage School Institute (Hamburg), The Gaiety School of Acting (Dublin), Stagecoach Performing Arts (multiple venues) The Susi Earnshaw Theatre School (London), West End in Schools (UK), Emil Dale Academy (UK) among many others.
Alongside her teaching career, Sharon continues to work professionally as a performer. She has appeared in leading roles in numerous major musical theatre productions, (including Bat Out Of Hell, Mamma Mia, Billy Elliot, The Karate Kid) and originated roles in new works, performed extensively in the West End, and appeared as a featured soloist on international arena stages.
Her comprehensive experience as a working performer gives her coaching a practical, performance-led perspective that is highly valued by both professional and aspiring artists.
In 2023, Sharon founded Science of Singing as a dedicated space to bring together her teaching, coaching, and rehabilitation work through classes, workshops, courses, and vocal education programmes.
